Orchid Bistro: A Tantalizing but Temperamental Fusion Experience

If the outcome is income, bring am come.

The fact that something is good doesn’t mean it is right. Orchid Bistro Ikeja, is a good restaurant to be, but the question is, are they doing it right?

Let us find out together in our review.

Overview
The Orchid Bistro is a contemporary Asian fusion restaurant located in the bustling Ikeja area that has been open for more than 3 years. With its modern interior design and creative Pan-Asian menu, it aims to offer a unique and elevated dining experience.

The Food
The food at Orchid Bistro Ikeja features a blend of Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese influences with some African and European flavors mixed in. Appetizers on the menu include options like suya chicken skewers, crispy vegetable spring rolls, and salmon tacos with Asian slaw. Their lunch menu includes rice and noodles dishes like jollof fried rice, pad thai, dan dan noodles. Dinner entrees range from wok-seared shrimp in coconut sauce to five spice duck breast with bok choy.

We tried some yummy foods at Orchid Bistro. The egg drop soup was fair. The noodle salad had nice crunchy veggies. The crispy tilapia fish tasted nice with the sweet and sour sauce. The rice was good to eat with the sauce. The coconut curry chicken was tender and went well with the spinach.

Atmosphere
The restaurant looks nice with colorful paintings and lantern lights. There is a big open kitchen where you can see the cooks making the food in big woks and on grills. The waiters and waitresses wear fancy black and red clothes. There are lots of tables and chairs. It gets busy and loud at dinner time. The bar area has a glowing black countertop where they make fruity drinks.

Price and Value
Appetizers and soups range from 3,000 to 3,500 Naira, mains from N3,500 to 7,500 Naira with special chef recommendation dishes going up to 9,500 Naira. Sides like chilli bok choy or creamy mashed potatoes cost over 3,000 Naira. Cocktails are priced from 2,000 to 4,500 Naira.

Downside Review

Some foods at Orchid Bistro are not so yummy. The chin chin dessert was too oily and greasy. Sometimes the mix of foods does not go well together. We did not like the texture of the noodles in the sesame salad. The tilapia fish was dry in the tamarind sauce. We think simpler foods would taste better here. The colorful paintings are nice but the tables are too crammed together.

Final Verdict
Orchid Bistro lets you taste foods from Asia and Nigeria. They mix together noodles, rice, and meats with AfrResican flavors. They have a fun menu with new kinds of food to try. The restaurant looks like a dance club inside. Even if some foods aren’t perfect, it’s still a yummy place to eat with your family and friends.
