Why Olaiya Foods Has Lagos Licking Its Fingers

If you’ve ever craved good old-fashioned Nigerian food with zero pretense and maximum flavor, Olaiya Foods is where your taste buds need to be. This isn’t your average “we serve amala” spot because this buka-style eatery isn’t just serving meals, it’s dishing out edible joy across four locations in Lagos.

With locations in Ikeja, VI, Lekki, and Surulere, Olaiya is out here serving up smoky jollof, soft-as-sin amala, spicy ofada rice, and zobo. And if you’ve never had their coconut rice, are you even living right?

Let’s start with their bold claim: “We have the best Amala in Lagos no doubt.” After tasting it myself, We’re arguing! But not today. Their Amala has the right consistency. In addition, it is soft, stretchy, and ready to scoop up whatever delicious stew you pair it with.

While Amala might be their crown jewel, Olaiya Foods doesn’t stop there. Their Ofada rice is equally flavorful. With diced beef, dried fish, panla, and ponmo all mingling together in spicy harmony.

And the coconut rice? Let’s just say it’s worth it.

From breakfast to dinner, Olaiya’s got your cravings handled. No DMs, though. Just bring your hunger, maybe wear something with stretch, and let the buka magic happen.
