Rapa Nui Lagos: A Polynesian-Inspired Seafood Experience in Victoria Island

Rapa Nui Lagos: A Polynesian-Inspired Seafood Experience in Victoria Island

When a chef with nearly 30 years of global experience brings his Easter Island-inspired dream to Lagos, you pay attention. Rapa Nui Restaurant, the latest venture from Chef Christian (the culinary mind behind La Taverna and Citizen), offers something genuinely different in Victoria Island’s dining scene: authentic Polynesian seafood cuisine with a Lagos twist.

After relocating from their original Box Mall location, the restaurant has found a new home on Etim Inyang Crescent, and we visited to see if this unique concept translates into a dining experience worth the trip.

The Dining Experience At Rapa Nui

Rapa Nui Lagos places seafood at the centre of its menu, with dishes built around prawns, fish, calamari, and scallops. Flavour profiles rely heavily on coconut, ginger, chilli, citrus, and fresh herbs, creating dishes that are bold without feeling unfamiliar.

The ambience is vibrant and polished, fitting comfortably into Victoria Island’s premium dining scene. It works well for relaxed dinners, group outings, and celebratory occasions.
