Sun, Sand, and Serenity: 11 Lagos Beaches That Have It All
On May 1, 2024, while most Nigerians were going about their daily lives, the owners and patrons of The Good Beach, Landmark Beach, and four other beach spots in Lagos faced a harsh reality. Parts of their infrastructure were reduced to rubble, casualties of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project.
As the dust settles, beach lovers in Lagos are left wondering, What’s next? With popular spots now gone, the hunt is on for new sandy escapes. Fortunately, Lagos still has plenty to offer. We’ve uncovered 11 beaches that are still standing, each with its unique charm.
The White Deck Beach
Located along Okun Ajah, Lekki, The White Deck Beach is a tranquil retreat, perfect for those seeking a break from the hustle and bustle of Lagos. The beach is clean, beautiful, and feels like a mini-vacation from Nigeria itself. The entry fee is a modest ₦2,000.

However, while The White Deck’s beauty is undeniable, it’s more of a visual delight than a playground. The beach is short on food vendors and entertainment, making it an ideal spot for contemplation, particularly if you’re nursing a broken heart or require an escape.

Laguna Beach
Next up is Laguna Beach, also in the Okun Ajah area. This lively spot does not charge an entry fee but requires a minimum spend of ₦5,000.
Laguna Beach is packed with amenities, including a swimming pool and table tennis, which are all free to use. The customer service is top-notch, making it a fantastic destination for a fun date.

Timeless Beach
If you’re looking for variety, Timeless Beach has got you covered. Located in the same vicinity, this beach offers everything from affordable entry fees (₦1,000 for adults, ₦1,000–₦2,000 for kids) to premium VIP experiences.

For ₦4,000, you get access to all the games and swimming facilities. There are also tent rentals for overnight stay, with prices ranging from ₦20,000 to ₦100,000.
For those who intend to party overnight, packages start at ₦2,000 for regular access and ₦6,000 for VIP.

If you’re looking for something more permanent, the beach offers various accommodation options, from standard rooms at ₦45,000 to executive apartments at ₦80,000.

Paradise Beach
As its name suggests, Paradise Beach might just be the closest thing to paradise. Don’t ask if we’ve been to paradise, just trust us on this one! This immaculate beach offers free entry from Monday to Thursday, with a ₦2,000 charge on weekends.

Paradise Beach features a swimming pool, table tennis, snooker, and more. If you’re in the mood for an overnight stay, they’ve got you covered with an on-site hotel.

AVISTA BEACH
Planning a honeymoon? Avista Beach is the place to be. With soft sand, clear water, and a peaceful atmosphere, this beach offers a perfect escape.

Beyond the typical beach experience, Avista offers an art gallery and a mini zoo, making it a fun destination for both relaxation and exploration. The entry fee is ₦4,000.

At the end of the day, the beach is a great place to watch the sunset. The sky turns pink, orange, and purple. It is a beautiful sight.

Coney Island
Located along the coastal line of beaches in Lagos, Coney Island is a serene and peaceful spot, one that is ideal for unwinding.

While the beach might not be the liveliest, it makes up for it with exceptional food. The entry fee is ₦3,000, and it’s perfect for those seeking quiet, personal time.

Barracuda Beach
Barracuda Beach is the life of the party. If you’re looking for a beach that has it all—food, fun, and a fantastic atmosphere—this is the spot.

The entry fee is ₦2,000, but Barracuda Beach gives back in spades, with a lively environment perfect for party freaks. Overnight stay is also available, with on-site lodging to rest your head after a night of fun.

ATICAN BEACH
For those on a budget, Atican Beach offers an affordable and welcoming option.
With an entry fee of just ₦1,000, this beach delivers a classic experience with all the essentials—food, a lounge area, and a grill—without breaking the bank.

WAVE BEACH
Wave Beach, located along Elegushi way, immediately caught our eye with its stunning aesthetic.

The beach offers various options, including a private beach area and a dedicated kids’ section filled with equipment for play. To access the features of the private beach, you need to book online.
234 LOFTS BEACH
Catering to the 1% of the 1%, 234 Lofts Beach is a beautifully decorated space in blue, offering luxury at its finest.
Short visits are free, but longer stays require a fee. The food and drinks here are top-notch, making it a must-visit for those looking for an upscale beach experience.

Lekki Leisure
Lastly, we have Lekki Leisure, a popular spot among expats, particularly Indians and other foreigners.
The beach offers jet skiing, volleyball, and more. If you’re looking for a beach close to home that offers excellent value, Lekki Leisure is the place for you. The entry fee is ₦3,000.
