Fun Things to Do in Lagos This Weekend (Part 2)

If you thought Lagos ran out of fun things to do after skating and amusement parks, think again.

The city has layers. There’s always something happening, you just need to know where to look. Whether you’re planning a birthday, a date, a group hangout, or just trying to escape your house for a few hours, these four activities deserve a spot on your weekend list.

1. Play Arcade Games (Yes, Like the Old Days)

There’s something deeply satisfying about arcade games. The flashing lights, the sound effects, the unnecessary competitiveness over who scored higher, it never gets old.

Arcade spots are perfect when you want something playful but not physically exhausting. You can race cars, shoot hoops, try claw machines (and lose bravely), or challenge your friends to air hockey battles.

Two solid arcade options in Lagos:

  • Rufus & Bee – Located in Victoria Island, this spot combines arcade games, bowling, food, and drinks. It’s ideal for group outings because there’s something for everyone.
  • Fun Factory – A favourite for families and friend groups, offering arcade games and other indoor activities.

2. Try Paintball (For When You’re Feeling Competitive)

If your group chat has been tense lately, paintball might be the healthiest way to release that energy.

It’s fast-paced, strategic, and slightly dramatic, in a fun way. You get suited up, split into teams, and try not to get “tagged” while plotting your next move.

Paintball works best for birthdays, team bonding, or when you want something more intense than dinner plans.

Where to try it:

Lagos Paintball

3. Plan a Proper Picnic

Not every fun plan needs noise or adrenaline. Sometimes all you need is good food, good company, and a decent patch of grass.

Picnics in Lagos have become increasingly popular, and for good reason. They’re affordable, flexible, and surprisingly refreshing.

Two great picnic-friendly locations:

  • Johnson Jakande Tinubu Park – Clean, spacious, and ideal for relaxed outdoor hangouts.
  • Freedom Park – A historic space that blends culture and leisure, making it perfect for laid-back afternoons.

Bring snacks, music, board games, or just conversation. It’s simple, but it works.

4. Experience Zorbing

Now this one is for people who enjoy slightly unusual fun.

Zorbing involves climbing inside a large transparent inflatable ball and rolling across water or grass. Yes, it sounds ridiculous, but  it’s actually fun.

It’s the kind of activity you try once and talk about for weeks.

Where to try it:

Lagos doesn’t lack options, it just demands creativity.

Again, with these few points of mine, i hope i have been able to convince you that one weekend you can be competing in arcade games. The next, you’re crawling through paintball obstacles.

The point is simple: there’s always something to do. So if anyone tells you Lagos is boring, send them Part 1 and Part 2 of this guide.
