My 2015 Panamera needed a PDK service and the dealer quoted me something like 9k. I almost cried in the service bay. A guy at a cars and coffee event told me about an independent shop that focuses on Porsche repair Dubai and I decided to give them a shot. They did the full PDK service – fluid, filter, pan gasket, and adaptation – for just under 4k. Used genuine Porsche parts and the technician used to work at the dealer. The car shifts perfectly and they even gave me a loaner car for the day. I honestly don't know why anyone goes to the dealer for anything out of warranty. The independent was faster, cheaper, and the service was more personal. Anyone else made the switch from dealer to independent for their Porsche and never looked back? I'm curious if there are any downsides I haven't thought of yet.
