Placebo Restaurant and Bar: Eat or Pass?

Placebo Restaurant and Bar: Eat or Pass?

Located in the heart of Magodo Phase 2, Placebo Restaurant and Bar presents a welcoming atmosphere and a menu of Nigerian cuisine.

While the ambiance and service are commendable, the food quality is inconsistent, with some dishes excelling and others falling short.

Upon entering, one is greeted by a pleasant ambiance, with tasteful décor and comfortable seating arrangements. The overall aesthetic is appealing, creating a suitable setting for both business meetings and casual dining.

The single staff member on duty provided friendly and attentive service, promptly guiding us to a table and taking our orders. The virgin mojito we ordered arrived promptly, offering a refreshing blend of mint, lime, and soda. However, the Nigerian Breakfast, consisting of yam, eggs, and sausage, took a considerably longer time to prepare.

The presentation of the dish was visually appealing, with the yam cooked to perfection. However, the eggs, which incorporated stale vegetables, were a significant letdown. This culinary misstep detracted from the overall dining experience.

Despite the substandard vegetables, the customer service remained commendable. The waiter’s friendly demeanor and attentiveness contributed positively to the dining experience. Additionally, the restaurant’s prices were pleasantly affordable, and the absence of value-added tax (VAT) further enhanced the value proposition.

While Placebo Restaurant and Bar possesses undeniable strengths, the inconsistency in food quality warrants improvement. Addressing this issue would elevate the overall dining experience and make Placebo a more reliable option for those seeking authentic Nigerian cuisine. We anticipate revisiting the restaurant in the future to assess its progress.

Overall Rating: 8/10
