El Padrino: The Naija-Mex Taco Movement You Didn’t See Coming

If you’ve ever wondered what happens when Nigerian boldness crashes into Mexican flavour, El Padrino Lagos is the answer. And honestly? The answer is delicious.

Plot twist: this isn’t your regular “influencer taco spot.” El Padrino is a full-blown Naija-Mex love story, written in handmade tortillas, roasted corn, and the type of quesadillas that make you question all your life choices.

Located on Admiralty Way in Lekki Phase 1 (yes, the same road where your money goes to disappear). El Padrino is all about Fresh Mexican Kitchen, Naija Style. And trust me, they mean it.

El Padrino: The Legend of the Lagos Tortilla

Before we get into the food, please let’s respect the hustle.

While some restaurants are out here shading suya with “fusion garnishes,” the El Padrino team was begging friends to bring bags of corn flour into Nigeria like it was contraband.

Ten bags per trip. In suitcases. At airport check-in.

Then one day, they said, “You know what? Let’s just grind our own Nigerian corn.”

And boom, April 3rd, 2021: the day Naija corn officially learned Spanish.

Every tortilla from El Padrino is made from scratch, a full 24-hour process. It’s giving commitment, culinary dedication and “we didn’t come to Lagos to play.”

El Padrino’s Menu: Lagos Meets Mexico, and Everybody Wins

Whether you want tacos, quesadillas, elotes, or their famous DIY taco kits, El Padrino gives you food that is fresh, flavourful, and full of vibes.

Highlights include:

  • Birria Carnitas Tacos
  • Elotes (Corn)
  • Large Sweet Pork Quesadilla
  • DIY Taco Kits

Plus, if you’re a Tuesday believer, please respect yourself and show up for #EPTacoTuesday. You literally get an extra taco with your order. Who are we to say no to blessings?

El Padrino Is A Culture, Not Just A Restaurant

El Padrino is building a taco movement in Lagos. From Naija-inspired sauces to their “food is diplomacy” global recognition. Shoutout to founder Uzo Umeh and the Mexican Embassy for creating a Lagos food brand with heart.

This is the type of Lagos–Mexico collaboration we need, not the one where they try to teach us how to make jollof.
